Pet and Wildlife Rescue – Charity #806379376

Pet And Wildlife Rescue is a registered charity in Chatham-Kent whose main mission is to raise animal care standards in the community.

The organization provides animal control services for four of the six wards in Chatham-Kent (Wards 2,4,5 and 6), and also operates animal shelters in both Chatham and Wallaceburg.

Their mission is carried through several programs which include finding suitable homes to surrendered or abandoned pets through fostering and adoption, providing temporary animal care to local pet owners in distress, operating a pet food bank, and assisting orphaned or injured wildlife through our volunteer team.
Domestic Pets

Pet Fostering/Adoption: Pet and Wildlife Rescue operates the animal shelters in Chatham and Wallaceburg. Though many of the animals are housed at the shelters, we aim to provide foster homes for suitable candidates to avoid exposing them to unnecessary stress. This is especially important for older pets or pets with special needs.

Cat Population Control: In an effort to help control local cat populations, Pet and Wildlife Rescue offers help to spay and neuter local cats when funding is available.

Wildlife: While Pet and Wildlife Rescue does not provide housing nor treatment services for wildlife, they are proud to assist several local wildlife rehabilitation centres by providing transportation for injured/orphaned wild animals. This service is available thanks to volunteer drivers and is not available 24/7
