Annual Canned Food Ride

Annual Canned Food Ride

Denton, Texas

Sponsored by The Litas Denton
The ride starts at Buc-ee's, 2800 S Interstate 35 E. in Denton. Meet at 10:00 am and motorcycles go out at 10:30 am. All motorcycles are welcome. Please bring food to donate. The most needed items include canned fruit and juice, peanut butter, cereal bars, canned tuna, and oatmeal. The riders will deliver the canned foods to the North Texas Food Bank.

In 1982, the North Texas Food Bank was established by Jo Curtis, Kathryn Hall, Lorraine Griffin Kircher, and Liz Minyard. They decided to address the critical issue of hunger in our community by distributing donations of surplus food and grocery products through a network of charitable organizations. Today North Texas Food Bank continues the fight against hunger as a certified member of the Feeding America Food Bank Network. Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, solicits food and grocery products from national suppliers, distributes them through more than 200 food banks and provides food banks with operational support. It also educates the public and government officials about the ongoing problem of hunger. For more information about the North Texas Food Bank go to https://ntfb.org
