The ride starts at Youth for Christ Centre/Hanover Park, 740 7th Avenue in Hanover. Registration begins at 8:00 am and motorcycles go out at 9:30 am. The ride fee is $25.00 for the rider and $15.00 for a passenger The ride fee includes food at the end of the ride. Prizes will be given for top fundraisers.The ride goes through South and North Bruce County, allowing riders to experience beautiful sites and great riding. The route will end with a barbecue lunch, included in the cost of registration. The event is a provincial fundraising motorcycle program directly benefiting over 25,000 Special Olympics athletes with an intellectual disability. The Torch Ride for Special Olympics is a celebration of the motorcycle industry, motorcycle enthusiasts and Law Enforcement Motorcycle Divisions and their support of Special Olympics Ontario. It is a one day event held in numerous communities across the Province in which Law Enforcement Officers make special dispensation and escorts a safe and controlled motorcycle ride or supports a “Poker Ride” through their respective communities.
